Tech Note 2: Shim Increments
Individual Pinion Depth Shims are available in 0.001″ increments from 0.006″ to 0.024″ thick. Shims may stacked to achieve the correct pinion depth. Most of these original equipment Shims will be stamped with a number indicating the thickness in thousandths of an inch
